Theater Information: One of the largest community theatres in the country, the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre and School of Theatre Arts has been entertaining and educating West Michigan since 1925.

Trip Description: Every third year, the Carroll Freedom Players go to Grand Rapids, Michigan for an educational opportunity to learn about theater and see quality productions at one of the largest community theatres in the country. This theater was introduced to us by Jim and Linda Chervenka, Carroll graduates and former freedom players, who have lived in Grand Rapids and worked with the Civic Theatre for many years.

Workshop Topics: Makeup, Character Development, Painting, Costumes, Auditioning, Set Construction, and Improvisation Skills.

What it includes: Charter Bus, 3 Workshops (Props, Improv, Sound Design, Lessac (voice and body training), Wigs Makeup, and Dressing, Stage Combat) , 2 nights in a hotel (Hampton Inn and Suites Grand Rapids Downtown), 2 live performances including The Little Mermaid at Grand Rapids Civic Theater. All meals are included.
